ARTS AWARD: Pappajohns To Be Honored

A national nonprofit group will honor two Des Moines philanthropists Monday night.

John and Mary Pappajohn will share the spotlight with several other honorees at the Americans for the Arts’ 2013 National Arts Awards.

The event is being held in New York City. It recognizes individuals and corporations who have shown outstanding leadership in the arts, education, and philanthropy.

The Pappajohns will be given the Eli and Edythe Broad Award for Philanthropy in the Arts.

The group plans to recognize blues legend BB King, actress Dakota Fanning, and sculptor Joel Shapiro.
