The Decorah Eagle Cam is back!

After a hiatus of almost a year because the famous Decorah eagles built a second nest and decided to rear their young there, the Raptor Resource Project has the livestream up and running again.

The RRP had to install a new camera at the second nest’s location, which is about 500 feet away from the original nest. It is near the DNR Fish Hatchery.

Millions have watched online over the past few years as the eagle couple has raised its young, but in 2012 the couple built a second nest. RRP didn’t want to disrupt the eagles by installing a camera and waited until all of the eagles, the couple hatched three eaglets in 2013, left the nest before installing a camera at the new site.

RRP is testing the camera Friday and the livestream will be off and on throughout the day.
