A second grader with a rare tumor nearly tripled her fundraising goal for childhood cancer awareness month.

Channel 13 reported on Kambell Koon’s effort in September.

Kambell attends Newton Christian School and had set out to raise $1,000 during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

She ended up raising $2,800.

Koon was recently treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a rare tumor on her hand.

The money she raised will go to the hospital, which relies on donations to treat kids at no cost to the family.

Kambell KoonKambell says she wanted to share the picture above as a thank you to all who contributed.
