CROSS COUNTRY: Dowling’s Duo Hoping For 3-Peat

Dowling Catholic has turned in to a cross country power.

The boys and girls programs have a combined nine state titles, and both have a shot at adding another at Saturday’s state meet.

The Maroon boys are trying to make it a 3-peat after winning it all in 2011, and ‘12.

It will be an uphill battle this year, the Maroons are a top 10 team although they’re not the favorite.

Both the boys and girls have two of the best individuals in the state, and they just happen to be brother and sister.

Third ranked Ryan Schweizer says he’s following in his sister’s footsteps. Second ranked Karissa adds she’s finding it hard to keep up with her younger brother.

Ames, Johnston, and Waukee also are with a shot of bringing home team titles.
