For every child of illegal immigrants who is a valedictorian, there are another 100 out there who weigh 130-pounds and have calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75-pounds of marijuana across the desert, said Iowa Congressman Steve King.

King's statement on illegal immigration has been an inflammatory one.  The comment has won King strong praise and stronger criticism.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said he did not agree with the harsh statement but did emphasize his belief that the immigration system needs to change.  Perry said he believes the government needs to change the system so that immigrants coming to America fill needed jobs instead of focusing so heavily on border security.

Perry said he thinks border security is important but thinks it will be an evolving situation that will grow less necessary as Mexico works to overhaul the country's current economic system.
