For Iowans who enjoy and keep track of weather, the Iowa Department of Agriculture's State Climatology Office invites them to volunteer as precipitation observers.

The program is called the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow network or CoCoRaHS.

All you have to do is set up a four inch diameter rain gage and submit data online at www.cocorahs.org.
