Des Moines police say they’re looking for a serial armed robber who hit three convenience stores in just three days.

Police want him caught before someone is seriously hurt.

Dallion Hites thought his brother was going to be killed. On Monday, Hites was visiting his brother at the Kum and Go on Guthrie Avenue where his brother works over nights when a masked robber came in with a gun.

The robber forced Tites and another man to the ground and struck Hites' brother across the face with a gun while demanding money. "To be honest when a family member get's hit with a gun, you hope for the best but expect the worst, you know what I mean?" Hites says.

Police believe this is the same guy who robbed two other convenience stores. The Valero gas station on East Euclid was robbed just hours before the Kum and Go was hit, and the Star Liquor Wine and Beer store on East 14th was robbed last Friday.

robbery 2"We believe it's the same suspect in all three of these cases," says Des Moines Police Sergeant Jason Halifax. "And we're asking for help from the public identifying this individual."

Because he is starting to assault his victims, police say he is becoming more dangerous.

"He's getting more aggressive in what he's doing, sort of upping the ante a little bit and causing more concern for what may come next," Sgt. Halifax added.

Des Moines police are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect to give them a call  anonymously at 223-1400.
