Icy driving conditions

The snow and ice caused a third fatality in Iowa in the last 24 hours.

The first happened around noon Thursday on I-80 in Pottawattamie County when 64-year-old Ronald Wahl of Wisconsin lost control of his pick-up, went into the ditch and rolled several times.

The second accident happened just before 10 p.m. near Woodbine in Harrison County. Authorities say 75-year-old Rex Rains drove into the path of an on-coming semi-truck.

In the early hours of Friday morning, 47-year-old Seuam Lovan of Marshalltown was killed near Conrad in Grundy County.

Lovan lost control and went into on-coming traffic on Highway 14. Lovan was hit by a semi and died at the scene.
