There is a moose on the loose in Iowa.

The Department of Natural Resources said the moose was last seen near Independence and is thought to be moving southeast.

Three moose were spotted in southern Minnesota early in the fall.  Only one moose has been confirmed in Iowa by the DNR thus far.

Experts said they think the animal is around one-and-a-half-years-old.

If you come across the moose, experts said you should keep your distance and call the DNR or Animal Control as soon as possible.
