***A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for much of Central Iowa until Midnight Monday morning***

Snow showers are likely in Central Iowa today. While the snow will remain relatively light, it will last nearly all day, allowing some moderate accumulations to pile up.

2 to 4" of snow is expected in Central Iowa.

Southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will cause minor blowing of snow...reducing visibility to a mile or less during periods of heavier snow. The snow will impact travel across the area... especially with this being the first widespread snowfall of the season. Some minor blowing snow is possible with some travel impacts due to briefly reduced visibility and snow covered roads. Motorists should use caution and exercise safe winter driving skills. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
