LIGHT SNOW: More Strong Winds Overnight

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 9 PM until 9 AM for northern and northeastern Iowa. 1 to 3" inches of snow will fall in this area. Fort Dodge and Ames are a part of the winter weather advisory area.

Des Moines is just south of the advisory area. Des Moines will see approximately a half inch of snow. The snow will begin in northern Iowa this evening and will push east early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday skies will clear and it will once again be cold and windy with highs in the low teens. Temperatures will actually fall through the day with strong winds from the west-northwest. There is another chance of snow on Friday night through Saturday morning.
