WINTER WEATHER: Ice Moving Out, Snow Next.

A Winter Storm Watch and Winter Storm Warning have been issued for this afternoon through Sunday evening.

Roads will remain slick overnight. Lows will be in the teens.

Today will be cloudy. Snow is expected to move in by 3PM. Snow will start to fall this evening. Heavy snow will fall overnight to early Sunday.
Three to five inches of snow is possible over the Des Moines metro. Heavier amounts of 6 to 8 inches are possible in southeast Iowa.
The northwest wind will be gusty tonight and Sunday.

It will remain cold and windy Monday. Blowing snow will still be a problem through Monday evening.

Tuesday and Christmas Eve will be dry and cool. Christmas will also be dry...but a bit warmer.

The end of next week looks much colder. Arctic wind will keep the snow blowing through Friday.
