Ottumwa police say they stopped a break-in at a gun shop earlier this week.

Police have arrested 29-year-old James Deevers in connection with the crime. They say he was inside Fox Hole Firearms in Ottumwa around 12:30 a.m. Monday when officers interrupted the burglary.

Police say Deevers ran from officers but was taken into custody a short time later.

He is charged with third degree burglary and driving under suspension and is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
