If you would like to share your love of bacon with your kids and weren’t able to snag tickets to the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival scheduled for February in Des Moines, a new event might just fit the bill.

The organizers of the festival announced Wednesday they are partnering with the Science Center of Iowa for a family friendly event -- the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival Jr.

The event is being held Sunday, January 26th at the Science Center of Iowa and will include live demonstrations teaching the science of bacon, interactive activities, and plenty of bacon to eat.

Tickets for the event are available online through the Science Center and quantities are limited.

The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is scheduled for February 1st on the grounds of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Tickets for the event sold out in just minutes back in December.
