The Iowa State Fair is a great state fair but the board has gone back and forth on the future of cash at the fair over the last week.  First the board decided the fair would run on 50-cent tickets instead of cash but after the public backlash, decided to move back to the cash system.

Democratic State Senator Matt McCoy said the Iowa State Fair brings the state together and the recent conflict united politicians across the board to keep the ticket system the same.

Republican Jeff Boeyink for the LS2 Group said using a ticket system would be a huge inconvenience for fair-goers and if the board is just worried about vendor compliance then they should focus on that instead.
