West Des Moines police are releasing more information in an identity theft case dating back nearly two years.

Police say in March of 2012, Qiang Chen and Binan Jiang moved to town from Los Angeles, California and started working as servers at the Eastern Buffet Chinese restaurant.

A couple of months later, police started getting several reports of unauthorized use of credit cards. Officers determined all of the victims had recently used their cards to pay for meals at the Eastern Buffet Restaurant.

4suspectsPolice say the men are responsible for taking more than 70 customers credit card information and then passing along the information to four men who were still living in Los Angeles. Yunhua Chen, Detai Weng, Rui Guo, and Wenhao Gu used the stolen information to make fraudulent cards.

The suspects then used the forged cards to make more than $100,000 in purchases across Iowa.

All of the men were arrested, and then prosecuted in Polk County in the fall of 2012 and ordered to pay restitution, but this man Binan Jiang, remains at large.

Polk County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jiang.
