Two people were rescued in northwest Iowa after their SUV fell through the ice.

The vehicle fell through on Lake Minnewashta near Arnolds Park.  Authorities said the person driving the Jeep was trying to cross under a bridge when they fell through.

No one was hurt in the accident.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said this is the sixth time this winter a vehicle has fallen through the ice.

To my knowledge there are no insurance companies that cover vehicles driven out on the ice. When you add the cost of a diver and the wrecker on top of what it will take to fix that SUV, this is a very costly mistake. Not to mention that someone could easily have been killed. Ain’t no fish worth dying for folks!
