Two sisters from Forest City were killed this weekend in an accident on a Hancock County road.

The Iowa State Patrol says 19-year-old Tiffany Banta was driving a Pontiac Grand Am eastbound on B14 Saturday night when she lost control and crossed the center line. An oncoming westbound Ford Explorer driven by 68-year-old Steven Hanna of Crystal Lake was unable to avoid hitting Banta’s car.

Tiffany Banta and her 15-year-old sister Chyann were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Hanna was not injured.

The investigation into the accident continues.
