Normally, the heavy snow and ice is the biggest issue out on the roads. But on Sunday, it's the wind that is making driving dangerous.

Northern and eastern Iowa is experiencing the worst of the winds and more of the whiteout conditions.

The Iowa Department of Transportation snowplows were forced to pull off the roads east of Waterloo due to the weather.

According to the Iowa DOT, those roads are considered impassible.

Travel is not advised for northern Iowa during the whiteout conditions.  To see the map of road conditions in Iowa, visit the Iowa Department of Transportation website here.
