The Saylorville Lake mile long bridge is back open after high winds forced the Iowa Department of Transportation to close it down due to safety Sunday.

DOT leaders monitored the conditions and the bridge overnight, and reopened the bridge early Monday morning.

The bridge connects Saylorville Lake to Polk City and is a major commute route for Des Moines metro workers.
