A Des Moines school was put on lockdown for a short time Monday.

Police say a teen who is a student at Lincoln RAILS Academy ran away from home last week. His father called police Monday because he was concerned for the teen’s welfare.

His dad mentioned something to officers about a picture of the teen on Facebook with a gun. That caused the lockdown.

School officials say the lockdown lasted about an hour.

Police say no threats were made, no gun was found, and the teen is still unaccounted for.
