Online court records show a Des Moines woman charged with first degree murder has taken a plea deal to lesser charges in a fatal stabbing.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ashley Rogers agreed to the deal last week. She has pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter, willful injury and assault in the stabbing that killed 22-year-old Frank Renfro Jr.

Police say Rogers stabbed Renfro and 22-year-old William Rochon in the early hours of June 1st, 2013. Renfro died at the hospital.

Rochon was taken to the hospital but survived.

Rogers’ murder trial had been scheduled to begin January 27th. Her sentencing is now set for February 28th.
