Des Moines police have arrested six teenagers in two recent armed robberies.

Eighteen-year-olds Tony Kpedeh and Stephen Meja were among them. A 17-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old were also charged.

All six were allegedly involved in a robbery at the Dahl’s on Ingersoll Friday night. Police say one suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his money. The suspect allegedly struck the victim with the gun and took off with the others in a mini-van.

Police later found the van, with the gun and all six teens inside.

During questioning police also charged five of the suspects in a robbery from last Thursday night outside an Ingersoll Avenue bar.

Meja is charged with two counts of first degree burglary and Kpedeh is charged with one count of first degree burglary. They’re being held in the Polk County Jail.
