A Polk County Sheriff’s deputy is credited with catching a man who allegedly robbed a Des Moines pharmacy.

Officials say Deputy Perry Ghee was near the Walgreens at 4415 Douglas Avenue Thursday night when he heard a broadcast on the scanner from Des Moines police of a possible robbery at the pharmacy.

When Deputy Ghee arrived at the Walgreens he noticed a man who matched the description of the suspect leaving the area on foot. He took 34-year-old Adam Card, of Ankeny, into custody.

Card is charged with 2nd degree robbery and possession of narcotics. He is being held in the Polk County Jail.
