Robin Abeltins from the Animal Rescue League in Des Moines stopped by with Shelly.  Shelly is a six-year-old female dog and is very sweet.  Shelly came to the ARL after her previous family, who purchased Shelly off Craig's List, said she was a wonderful dog but not the right fit for the family.

Abeltins said Shelly would do best in a quiet home, possibly without kids.  Shelly is good with cats and other dogs but not with birds.  Shelly gets a little nervous in stressful situations but is a mostly calm dog.

For Valentine's Day, Abeltins said the ARL is selling chocolate, toffee and caramel covered apples for $15 each.  They are also hosting different events and classes coming up including Zumba at the ARL.  For more information, visit the ARL website here.
