The West Des Moines Police Department is hoping the public can help to identify a man in connection with a stranger danger case.

Police say a driver motioned a ten-year-old child to his car Monday afternoon. The child was walking home from Westridge Elementary School.

According to police, the man went into a driveway, got out of the car and watched the child run away.

The driver is described as a white male in his 40s with spiked hair and black coat. He was driving a golden sedan with rust on the bottom.

If you can help identify the man you’re asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at (515) 223-1400.
