BOBSLED RESULTS: Tuesday Runs Complete

The first day of the women’s bobsled competition in the Winter Olympics in Russia is over. We’re following Lolo Jones performance. If you don’t wish to know the results until the competition airs on the NBC Sports Network between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tuesday – STOP READING NOW.





It was a slow start for Lolo Jones and Jazmine Fenlator in their first two runs at the Sanki Sliding Center at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Jones and Fenlator, in the USA 3 sled, clocked 58.27 in Heat 1 of Tuesday’s competition. Out of the 19 team field they came in 11th place in the first heat. On the second run they had a time of 58.46, giving them a combined time of 1:56:73. They remain in 11th place going into Wednesday’s action.

The other USA teams fared much better in Tuesday’s runs. USA 1, with Elena Meyers and Lauryn Williams, were the second to go in the first heat, just behind Canada 1 which set a track record on its first run at 57.39. Meyers and Williams broke that record with their run of 57.26. They were in first place at the end of the first heat, and remain in the top spot following a second run of 57:63. They had a combined time of 1:54.89.

USA 2, with Jamie Greubel and Aja Evans had a time of 57.45 in the first heat and 58:00 in the second heat for a combined time of 1:55:45. That leaves them in third place.

Canada 1 is currently in second place.

Two more runs are scheduled for Wednesday, which will determine the medals.
