The wintry mix in the forecast has not affected school start times for Des Moines yet.

The officials at the Des Moines Public Schools said they don’t expect that to change but they could always change their mind if the storm gets bad.

“If we’re going to cancel or delay, we really have to make that decision and announce it no later than 6 a.m.  We like to do it earlier than that but 6 a.m. at the absolute latest,” said Phil Roeder of the Des Moines Public Schools.

“If we’re going to let out early, we really have to decide prior to 10 a.m. at the latest,” Roeder said.

All of the school closings and delays are available on the WHO-TV website here and on the bottom of the screen during Today in Iowa.
