A local group is putting on a special service for a man severely beaten during a carjacking one year ago.

The Tifereth Israel Synagogue is hosting an interfaith prayer service Wednesday night. There will be a freewill donation and the event starts at 7:00.

It marks the one year anniversary since three teens severely beat Mike Wasike. Wasike is in a rehabilitation center in Oklahoma. He can’t walk, talk, or see.

The three teens accused of attacking Wasike are still awaiting trials.
