Authorities have made an arrest in the death of an Estherville woman.

The Estherville Police Department says it responded to a 911 call Wednesday just before 8:00 p.m. at 2302 3rd Avenue South, Lot 108 about a shooting. When they arrived they found 30-year-old Michaela Jordan dead of a single gunshot wound.

Witness accounts helped lead police to a suspect, 35-year-old Scott Sudbeck, and a warrant for first degree murder was obtained. Early Thursday morning, a tactical team took Sudbeck into custody at his Estherville home.

He is being held in the Emmet County Jail on a cash-only bond of $2 million.

Sudbeck also faces charges for alleged sexual abuse. February 10th, he was charged with third degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child, and two counts of indecent contact with a child.

Emmet County Attorney Doug Hansen says he can’t comment on whether there are any links between the murder and sexual abuse cases.
