UNDERAGE DRINKING: Bill To Hold Adults Responsible

The Iowa Senate has approved a bill that would hold adults responsible for knowingly allowing underage drinking.

The bill passed unanimously Monday.

It proposes that any adult hosting parties on their property where alcoholic beverages are consumed by underage drinkers would be charged with a misdemeanor.

This bill would apply statewide but wouldn’t trump rules currently in place in Iowa counties and cities.

The bill now goes to the Iowa House for consideration.

Let’s make sure to pass an un-enforcable law. How do you “prove” that someone “knowingly” allowed drinking on their property??

You can’t unless they actually PURCHASED the alcohol and are standing there with the kids when the cops show up.
