The Indianola School Board has chosen a new superintendent for the district.

The announcement was made Wednesday morning that the board has approved a contract offer to Art Sathoff, the current superintendent at Fairfield Community Schools.

“Art has the complete, well-rounded skill set of what we are looking for in a new superintendent,” says Indianola school board president Carolyn Langenwalter.

The district received 99 applications for the position. Current Indianola superintendent Dr. Michael Teigland announced his retirement last fall.

The agreement will become final when Sathoff is released from his Fairfield contract.
