Today is Window Safety Awareness Day.

Governor Branstad designated the day in memory of a four year old fall victim.

Three years ago on March 21st, Hannah Geneser fell through a third floor window screen while attending a family birthday.

She later died from her injuries.

A foundation in her honor advocates for window safety to let parents know screens won’t keep kids in.
