Iowans will hear the sound of alarms Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service is holding a statewide tornado drill as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. A test Tornado Watch is being activated at 10:00 a.m. with a Tornado Warning following at 10:15 a.m.

Weather radios and outdoor sirens will go off.

The drill gives cities a chance to make sure their equipment is ready for the storm season ahead.
