JOBLESS NUMBERS: February Rate Increases

Unemployment rates fell in most states in February, but Iowa was not one of them.

Unemployment rates dropped in 29 states, and went up in 10, including in Iowa.

The rate ticked up slightly from 4.3-percent in January to 4.4-percent.

Workforce Development says despite the increase, Iowa experienced an unusually large growth in the state`s labor force in February.

The national unemployment rate is 6.7-percent.
