A driver will be cited for going through a red light and hitting a Des Moines school bus Friday morning.

It happened around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and University. Police say a school bus was heading northbound on 19th Street when a Toyota Camry blew through a red light and hit the side of the bus.

Police say the bus didn’t have any students on it at the time of the accident. The bus driver was not injured.

Four adults in the Camry were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. An infant in the car was not injured.
