Fans looking ahead to baseball season can get a taster on Saturday.

The I-Cubs’ home opener is next week. To get you geared up, there’s an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You can get a behind the scenes look at things like the weight room and the batting cages. As long as the field is in good condition, families can also field a few balls.

Free soda and hot dogs will also be provided.

“I think people are chomping at the bit to get the warm baseball weather here. Hopefully once you hear the mitts pop and the balls hitting the bats you know that baseball season has officially kicked-off,” Iowa Cubs’ Nate Teut says.

First pitch will be next Thursday at 6:35 p.m. against the Memphis Redbirds.
