A Wind Advisory is in effect across Central and Western Iowa. From I-80 to the Missouri border, the advisory goes through 7 PM. Winds will be strong from the southwest at 25 to 35 mph, gusts to 45 mph. North of I-80 to the Minnesota border, the advisory lasts through 7 AM Tuesday. Winds will be strong from the southwest through the evening and will switch from the northwest tonight. Gusts will continue to be as high as 45 mph through the night in Northern Iowa.

0.03″ of rain fell in Des Moines this morning. Isolated showers and storms will pop up in Central Iowa this evening and move east.  There is the possibility a storm may produce small hail.

Temperatures will drop quickly tonight to a low of 28 degrees.

Tuesday will be breezy and cooler. Highs will only be near 50 degrees. More rain is in the forecast on Wednesday.
