WINDY FRIDAY: Warm-Up Starts Tomorrow

This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 PM today throughout central Iowa. Winds will be out of NW at 25-30 mph and gusts as strong as 40+ mph. This could create travel difficulties in the north with blowing snow from last night's snowfall.

Highs today will make it into the 40s in the metro, but the winds will keep it feeling like the 30s today.

Over the weekend, temperatures will warm up a bit as winds die down as well. Some light showers are possible on Sunday afternoon, mainly in Western Iowa. Light rain is also possible over the western half of the state on Monday.

Much warmer weather will return on Wednesday.
