WINNINGS STOLEN: Man Stabbed After Casino Visit

Police say a man was robbed and stabbed early Friday morning in Des Moines after winning big at Prairie Meadows.

Officials say the victim was in the 100 block of Lacona Ave. at around 4:20 a.m. when he was approached by three men who demanded money and his phone. When the victim refused he was stabbed in the thigh.

The victim told police the thieves got away with $500 in cash and his credit and debit cards.

The victim said he recognized one of the men as he was with him when he won the money at the casino.

Police say they found a black stocking cap at the scene.

No arrests have been made.
