OIL SPILL: Hazmat Called To Des Moines River

Firefighters were busy along the Des Moines River Monday evening.

The fire department dispatched its hazmat crew after someone spotted an oil slick in the water.

A buoy is now set up near the 6th Avenue Bridge to collect any oil. It will remain there overnight.

Crews are yet to determine where they oil came from.
