A convicted murderer could find out if he’ll get out of prison Wednesday after 40 years behind bars.

Rasberry Williams was sentenced to life in prison in 1974 for shooting and killing a man in Waterloo.

Last year, Gov. Terry Branstad commuted his sentence. Corrections officials describe Williams as a model prisoner.

Willams goes before the Iowa Parole Board Wednesday. Board members could decide to set him free.
