We now know the new development going into Waukee will be called Kettlestone.

It’s named after the glacial kettle ponds that once dotted the area. It’ll be the area between Hickman Road and Interstate 80 where the new interchange is being constructed.

Over 30 years of development, the city says the area could support 7,000 new housing units.

There’s also an amphitheater planned and plenty of shopping.

City officials are also planning to re-name Alice’s Road but that name hasn’t been decided yet.
