Saturday will be the nicest day of the next seven days. We will have mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures in the mid-70s this afternoon. It will be quite windy. Winds will be strong from the east at 10 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.

Rain chances arrive overnight with some isolated showers and storms by early morning Sunday. We will see more storms move in by late afternoon on Sunday lasting through the evening. Some storms may produce some hail and damaging winds. Highs will again be in the 70s.

The storm system that brings in the rain on Sunday will stall out and stay over the Upper Midwest through the week. This means that skies will stay cloudy, temperatures cool and rain chances most days through the end of the week. Rain amounts will range from 1 to 3" across Central Iowa by the end of the week. There could be locally higher amounts that have stronger thunderstorms move through.
