The man charged with killing a police officer has been found competent to stand trial.

Officer Jamie Buenting was serving an arrest warrant at the home of Corey Trott when Beunting was killed by a gunshot to the chest.

Trott was arrested after a standoff. He is charged with first-degree murder.

A judge ordered Trott’s trial be suspended until he could receive a psychiatric evaluation. The doctor found that Trott is competent to stand trial, but a trial date has not been set.
