A judge has ruled a third trial for a southeast Iowa man accused of murdering his pregnant wife can not be moved to a later date.

Seth Techel’s trial will begin on July 14th at 9:00 a.m.

Techel’s first two trials were declared mistrials after both juries couldn’t decide on a verdict.

Techel allegedly killed his wife Lisa at their Agency home in 2012. He is charged with first degree murder and non-consensual termination of a fetus.

The trial is being held in Scott County because of pre-trial publicity.
