The green flag is about to drop on opening weekend at the Iowa Speedway and this year, fans will notice new food options.

The Speedway’s president says they selected dishes based on Iowa products.

One is waffles fries smothered in pulled pork, corn and bacon. There’s also a new drink mixed with Temple Rye whiskey.

Racing starts Saturday at 8 p.m. with the Casey’s General Store 150. Montgomery Gentry will perform after the race.

Sunday will see the Get to Know Newton 250. Driver Cale Conley of West Virginia is in that Nationwide Series race.

“The atmosphere is good. I grew up coming out here to Knoxville to race a sprint car so being out here all brings about a positive energy. I’m happy to be here,” Conley said.

Police say to expect traffic to be heaviest about two hours before and after each race.
