Police arrested a Des Moines man after he allegedly fired a gun into a woman’s home.

Officers responded to 1516 Evergreen Avenue at about 9 p.m. Monday night. They found the knob on the victim’s apartment door gone.

Witnesses inside the apartment say 24-year-old Quinton Garrett tried to force his way inside. When he was unsuccessful, he allegedly fired a gun breaking the back window.

Police caught up with Garrett a short time later at 2090 King Avenue. He has been charged with harassment, attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
