The first Microsoft store in Iowa is now open at Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines.

Microsoft has done a nationwide rollout of physical stores.

The store carries the Xbox, surface tablets and the Microsoft phones. It will also soon sell the new Surface Pro 3 announced Wednesday.

The store, located in center court, is not just for new products, but also to help out Microsoft customers.

"Sometimes getting through to the 800 number isn't always that easy and that's one of the reasons we're here to help with the Microsoft questions. And to relieve some of the frustrations for our consumers and change that brand image that Microsoft has currently,” store manager Steve Webb explained.

It is the only Microsoft store in Iowa.

Webb says when the store opened, they were welcomed by current company employees at the West Des Moines Microsoft data center.
