Iowa’s primary election is one week from today and candidates are bringing in some big names in a final push for votes.

Former US Attorney Matt Whitaker will welcome Texas Governor Rick Perry to Iowa on Thursday. Perry will make four stops in the state promoting Whitaker’s candidacy.

Then on Friday, State Senator Joni Ernst will welcome former presidential candidate Mitt Romney. They will make stops in Cedar Rapids and Davenport.

Whitaker and Ernst are part of a five-way race along with Sam Clovis, Mark Jacobs and Scott Schaben for the Republican nomination for US Senate.

The winner will challenge Representative Bruce Braley in the mid-term election in November.
